I am a big fan of this grill by Char-Broil. The TRU Infrared Electric Patio Bistro 180 Grill offers a whole lot of impressive features for a very reasonable and affordable price.
With 245 square inches, this is competitive with the high end electric grills on the market, and the heat distribution is immaculately even, which is a major bonus. In many ways, it is hard to find out why a grill like this would be less expensive than others that are nearly double the price. The in-hood thermometer is a very handy feature, which comes in mighty handy when the dome is closed and you’re cooking away.
The electric grill also comes with neat additions like a side shelf and a warming rack which go above and beyond the offerings of most standard electric grills– that being said, it did not take me long to discover that, with features like these, this Char-Broil grill was offering a whole lot more than a “stand” electric grill. This grill allows a very convenient cooking process, and the temperature can be regulated easily. I was very impressed to see the temperature shoot all the way up to 550 degrees with no signs of slowing down.
Not an Inside Grill
This is a patio grill, for sure, and it is seriously suggested that you do not use it inside. Still, it is a small, sturdy, and seriously high quality electric grill. It doesn’t take long at all to assemble, and from there it doesn’t take long to warm up. To be honest, you could be grilling up dinner within half an hour of arriving home with one of these, which is a pretty unprecedented level of convenience, as far as I’m concerned. Despite the affordable price, this grill is often compared favorably to Weber grills, which are about double the price, but definitely not double as effective… In my opinion, that means that this grill represents huge value.
It is clearly well designed and built from high-quality materials– and that goes from the body all the way to the surface of the grill itself. The thing is hefty from top to bottom, and the infrared heat spreads evenly and consistently on the grill.
If you are looking for an outdoor patio electric grill, you will have a tough time finding more bang for your buck than this one. Just don’t underestimate the power of this grill– just because it’s electric doesn’t mean that it lacks bite. I think this is a fine grill, and I am mighty pleased to recommend it to anyone.
